One Week

I can't believe I leave in a week! When I signed up to go to San Carlos, October 18th felt like it was a lifetime away, and yet it managed to creep up on me so quickly! I'm so excited about it, especially now that I've heard from the other volunteers that will be going with me. Plus, we had the conference call a few days ago, so everything feels like it's real now. (That being said, I still haven't had any motivation to start packing!)

I still don't know what my placement is, which is kind of frustrating, but I figure I'll know by next week. I have to admit, I've been checking my e-mail like a madwoman for the past week to see if my program director sent the placement details! I understand why we can't find out where we'll be volunteering until close to departure time, but I still don't like it! Oh well. It will be that much more exciting when I do find out!

I'll be gone for 8 weeks, so I'll be back in time for Christmas, but I'll miss Halloween, which is a first for me. Fortunately, I won't be missing Thanksgiving, as it's this weekend! (I'm so happy to be Canadian!) There are two other people who will be with me the full 8 weeks in Costa Rica, which will be fantastic.

Can't wait to get there! So excited!
