Hi Amanda, This is great! I think you are doing all the right things to kick start your fundraising efforts. I know that fundraising can take a long time and also be a bit daunting, but it is definitely do-able. A few things to help you... Be su...

Hi Vanessa,

I'm glad i got to meet you and your sister as well!!! Costa Rica has been great. I'm sure you heard about the crazy earthquake we had on Thursday! Thankfully we were all ok at the house! Hope you are enjoying your New Year!

Hi Vanessa,
I am new to CCS, but about to take my first steps in Morocco starting 1st November. You have some amazing photos and I particularly wanted to ask you about the camel trekking ones, where was that and how can I get on it? Au revoir, David

Hey Vanessa... how much English do the people of Morocco know? I'm a little worried about communication... I'm attempting to pick up some French and Arabic, but it will be a struggle... what do you suggest?

Ya I've got the Rosetta stone for french which I've been using for a couple months now. I've got to get an Arabic phrase book as well. I'm kind of nervous hoping I pick up enough french to get by. Is there Anything on the recommended reading list that you would stay is essential? Is there anything that you would say is maybe that I should learn or attempt to learn that is not necessarily in the program info packs that I've received?

Hi Loretta,
It's great that you are thinking about another trip! The CCS Program Design does not actually alow for volunteers to take one week breaks in the middle of their program. The best thing is to schedule time at the beginning or the end of your program to do longer excursions.
I definitely have to visit Semuc Champey myself! It looks absolutely incredible and is definitely on my list for my next trip, I'll keep my eye out for the orchids - they are amazing!
There are so many incredible places to visit with CCS and since you are an alumni you get a discount. You can always call and speak with a Program Enrollment Manager to ask more questions and about availability and dates by calling 800-380-4777.
Great to hear from you!

Hi Vanessa
Thanks for contacting me. It's cool to see what you look like after having talked with you for so long. I loved my stint in Guatemala City and would love to go back to Hogar Esperanza some day. OTOH CCS has so many other placement opportunities it is so difficult to decide what I want to do. For future reference, is it possible to do 3 or 4 weeks of a volunteer service with a 1 week break in the middle? I loved the work but the weekends were too short to see all the stuff I wanted to see. I need to go back to Semuc Champey and see that river again and wade in it and then go see the orchids. I am kicking myself for not taking the time for the orchid museum and not wading in the river. Next time I will do it right.

Cheers
Loretta

Hi Bob,

It's great to hear from you! I agree, technology moves at the speed of light! I have a hard time keeping up with it myself. It is also exciting to see how much you can connect with people and learn about things normally you wouldn't be exposed to. I love your picture for your profile, very appropriate! Did you ever sign up for the clown school? We love that story :) I love the idea of your triple threat, sounds like a great plan. Definitely keep in touch, I always love hearing from volunteers.
Best,
Vanessa
