- About me:
- I have wanted to live "out of the box" for quite some time. After being in the same job for nearly eight years and never living more than 5 miles from my parents' house (except for during college), I was so thirsty for a big change! I have an "if not now...when?" mentality, and a wise person recently told me that "life is for living!" Although I have been very pleased with my "life" thus far, I have felt that something was missing...and while I'm not 100% sure WHAT is missing, I know that an adventure, a risk, a "stepping-out-of-my-comfort-zone" experience is definitely PART of what's missing.
I am eager to experience life in another country. I crave the opportunity to master another language (my Spanish used to be excellent, but without practicing, it has nearly died). I love meeting new people, and I am hopeful that someone or something will inspire me in a way that helps me choose my next career path. And - even if all of these above-mentioned hopes and dreams do not fully come to fruition, I know that I stepped out of the box, took a risk, and helped improve the lives of a few people (those I am helping...and my own).
I look forward to seeing you in Peru if you'll be there when I am there! :)

- Hi Stefani - just saying hello. Congrats on your commitment. I am a law student. I have been curious about the West African experience for about 3 years now. If the opportunity comes up, I am considering volunteering there for a couple of weeks between classes. Good luck to you. All I know about Peru comes from photos of the pyrimids and Inca Indians. Some things have changed and I may be able going to Lima on 6/14 (two weeks) granted there are open spots but I wont know for sure until 6/1.
Also do you plan on visiting Machu Picchu?

Looks like we will be missing each other by one day. I saw that you are a fitness instructor and I wanted to let you know that there is a gym down the street from the Home Base! I leave this Saturday for 4 weeks and I'm both excited and nervous! Good luck with you trip and if you need any advice or anything while I am already there-- just shot me an email! ;-)
