I am 25 years old. This will be my first experience doing any kind of volunteer work. I attended the University of Florida and specialized in Education and History. I am nervous and excited about going to Peru because it will be my first time outside the US. I am finally stepping outside of my "comfort zone" and into a world I have never known.

First 2 weeks in Peru

For all of you who are preparing to come to Peru on the 1st, you have areal treat in store for you! I was nervous about coming down here, but it has turned out to be two of the best weeks of my life so far. Hey Scott! Are you still in Lima? You were staying for 12 weeks, right? I miss Lima so much... I think we're doing another program (probably in Africa) either this summer or the next. It's a long time to wait.

Oh yeah, i forgot to tell you about the immunizations--i am not getting anything for peru specifically, i am getting yellow fever though because I will be going to Rio after my time in Lima and you need to get the yellow fever shot if you are entering rio from lima. I too am looking forward to seeing you soon!

wow you are leaving saturday? I am so excited I can't wait! so I am guessing you have your placement! what are you going to be doing? I leave on the 31st im sure they will be sending my info soon.. what do you do down in FLA? I was going to move there last year but it didn't work out. Have you done volunteer work before?
