- I am 25 years old. This will be my first experience doing any kind of volunteer work. I attended the University of Florida and specialized in Education and History. I am nervous and excited about going to Peru because it will be my first time outside the US. I am finally stepping outside of my "comfort zone" and into a world I have never known.

First 2 weeks in Peru
For all of you who are preparing to come to Peru on the 1st, you have areal treat in store for you! I was nervous about coming down here, but it has turned out to be two of the best weeks of my life so far. I look forward to meeting you all and you will fit right in with the friendly staff and volunteers. Within a week everyone is like family. - Hey Scott! Are you still in Lima? You were staying for 12 weeks, right? I miss Lima so much... I think we're doing another program (probably in Africa) either this summer or the next. It's a long time to wait.

- Oh yeah, i forgot to tell you about the immunizations--i am not getting anything for peru specifically, i am getting yellow fever though because I will be going to Rio after my time in Lima and you need to get the yellow fever shot if you are entering rio from lima. I too am looking forward to seeing you soon!

- wow you are leaving saturday? I am so excited I can't wait! so I am guessing you have your placement! what are you going to be doing? I leave on the 31st im sure they will be sending my info soon.. what do you do down in FLA? I was going to move there last year but it didn't work out. Have you done volunteer work before?
