- I did some fundraising (family) but I mostly paid for it by saving money. I quit my job and went to brazil!

- Hi Samira! Good luck with your trip and with raising money! I have gone with CCS on trips always with a student organization at UCSD, but the university does not fund the trips, so fundraising is something I'm very familiar with! The biggest way I raise money is through sending a letter to my friends and family. I stick it in my holiday card for a personal touch, and send them a thank you letter from the country I go to. When I was in Ghana, I had a seamstress make me bookmarks out of Ghanaian fabric and sent them with their letters. It was a hit! Garage sales can also raise somewhere around $500 if you have good stuff and advertise well. Other ideas include going door to door, selling concessions at a local sports arena (you sign up and get paid through them), car washes, etc. Best of luck!!!
