Hi Dan! I actually caught swine flu which turned into pneumonia, then fluid in the lungs then a blood clot! All is seemingly better, but Drs advised me it would not be good idea to fly (blood clot) and also my immune system is so extremely comprom...
Unfortunately I will not be making the Dec 5 trip. :( I am on the waitlist for January 2nd and I am hoping that will work out!
Soooo is anyone headed to Cape Town in December 2009? I am planning on being there for three weeks starting Dec 5.

I graduated from Meredith College in 2005. I majored in Political Science with the intentions of doing non-profit or advocacy work. I was laid off in January 2009, and have been filling my time with applying for jobs and doing volunteer work. As I am still looking for work there is nothing else I would rather do then volunteer abroad. I have had volunteer experience around the globe but never in South Africa, so I am excited and looking forward to this new adventure.

- HI, so everyone in my group..that came in on Sept 25 will be gone by Dec 19th (i leave Dec 19), but we just got a new group in last weekend and some of them will def still be here after Dec 19th and in two weeks, we get a new group in. So there is always quite a bit of people in the house. i hope you are excited to come, it really is an amazing experience!
