Samantha if you'll be there for 8 weeks you wont need to set aside extra time for M.P. Others in the house will want to visit M.P. as well and you could plan your trip with them. You would also only need to miss one day of placement for the trip. ...

Flight Delayed...

My flight was delayed today due to bad weather over DFW airport and missed my connecting flight to Lima as a result. I wont be able to get another flight to Lima until Saturday 6/13/2009. Things happen for a reason so I wont complain, however this does change my schedule. I wont be able to visit Cuzco first like I expected but will do so afterward.

Hrmm... I wonder where my luggage is.... lol

Hi Michael! Thanks for your reply! Your information is extremely useful! I will most likely follow the same thing you did by using Royal Inka Hotel's 2 Nights 3 days Machu Picchu travel package. I'm a bit nervous about my trip as I will be travelling alone....did the people from the hotel pick you up from the airport in Cuzco? How far in advance did you book your flights and the hotel package? Thank you again! =)

Hi Michael, thanks for your reply! Your blog and pics of your Peru trip are amazing! I'm having trouble deciding on when to book my flight to leave Peru. I will most likely take the same approach of going to Machu Picchu after my placement at CCS is done (Friday). If I leave for Cuzco on Friday night or early Saturday morning, would I be able to see Machu Picchu (M.C) before Sunday afternoon? I'm hoping to leave Peru before Sunday evening. From leaving homebase to Cuzco and then to M.C, how many days did you take? Sorry for bombarding you with all the questions but I would greatly appreciate your help! Thanks in advance =)

Hi Mike! I was wondering if you can give me some advice about signing up with CCS and the application, traveling, and being in Lima. Thanks for your time!

I was just signed up for the Kilimanjaro rather than rural Kilimanjaro. There are two home bases in the Kilimanjaro one though, and the one I was at was in a small village outside of the bigger city. It was Karanga village which only had a few thousand people and had a lot of maize fields (rural feel). It was amazing because we'd walk around the village after our placement and meet people and be invited into peoples homes a lot, people were so friendly.

Thanks for the video comment! Hope you enjoyed the videos. If you have any questions at all about Tanzania feel free to ask!! I had a wonderful experience there. I am going back to visit my class in June/July 2010. Looks like you had a great trip to Peru, I'll have to read your blog later when I have a minute!!!! I want to go to Peru with CCS in 2011.

Yes, my time in Machu Picchu was definitely one of the most spiritual moments of my life. It was just beyond... I am going to New Delhi, India, this October with CCS. I hope it will be another amazing experience.

I glad to hear that you had a wonderful time. I do have plans but not anytime soon because of school. But I hope maybe by next year. Africa is where I want to plan my first CCS trip. Then Latin America and Asia. I know you will love Africa and its cultural. Very welcoming community.
