Hi Meg. It's been a while. Am I to see a photo of you standing on top of Kili waving a flag with a massive grin on your face? :)

I loved being there, I felt it was the best placement. I miss the children so much. I think of them all the time. I am so happy Emma is free. :)

Hi there.

How is the detention center? I really miss the children there. If Emma, Kelvin, and Kasbet are still there, please tell them I say hello.

I was told by Emily that you are going to be at the detention center.

The best 7 weeks of my life were spent there.

You will LOVE it. I am so happy you are spending 10 weeks there with the kids. Please let me know how they are and what you think. I'd also like to do some fundraising here in america and get the money to better equip the kids at the center.

Yes my doctor informed me that it was important to take the vaccine. Its not that bad. Its a pill u take for fours days every other day. Its helpful so if you eat or drink something you won't get as sick. Your medical doc can perscibe it to you and I read it somewhere in the ccs book.

Hi Meg - my brother and I will also be in Moshi, but just until the end of July. I think it's great that you'll be there for a couple months :-)

Hujambo dada! I am so excited for you! I am glad you liked my videos. The weather was defintiely cool during the mornings, your temperature estimates are about right, although I must say it felt warmer a lot of the time due to the humidity. We would head for a walk to the highway supermarket and feel sticky and sweaty within five minutes or so haha. I did wear skirts for each day of volunteering, the school I was at was quite conservative as are most environments. Just don't show your knees I guess! I wore capri pants or long skirts on my free time, and took jeans and khakis for safari. Depending on if you are in the Karanga base or the Rau base you might have a different feel for your free time wear. I wore capris and pants to go into the city a lot, but when I was just walking around the small village area in Karanga I wore skirts. My friend wore shorts when we went for an evening walk and actually got quite a few stares. I think the Rau home is closer to the city of Moshi and you would probably feel comfortable wearing pants or shorts for a lot of the time. Anyway listen to me ramble...
I'd say one of the best things to bring is one of those small portable packs of toilet paper or wet wipes because a lot of the bathrooms you encounter when you are on safari or at your placement or exploring are really basic and do not have running water or paper. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
