Hi Mariza -- I just got my placement and I was placed at the LAR DA CRIANÇA orphanage for the week. Your placement in a school sounds interesting as well. I won't have much time to travel around to other parts of Brazil as I have limited vacation time so I am just volunteering for the 1 week. How long are you staying? Good luck on your vacation preparations..I know I do not feel at all ready and just realized that I am leaving in just over 1 week! I was hoping to try and learn a little Portuguese to help in my placement but I do know that there will be some basic lessons and if it is anything like my experience in Morocco they actually give you alot of basic words that you'll need to know in working with the kids at the orphanage. I worked at an orphanage on my Morocco CCS program as well so I do feel a bit prepared. See you next week!

Hi Mariza -- I am from New York and I will be doing the Insight program in Salvador from 10/24 thru 10/31!! This is my second CCS program this year and I am so EXCITED about Brazil. I have never been there before. Looking forward to meeting you...Which part of the US are you coming from?

Hi! I will be there from Sept. 26 - Nov. 21, so I will definitely see you! I just found out that my volunteer placement is at an orphanage. This will be my first time volunteering abroad. I'm very excited! :-) See you next month!
