Thanks so much for your comment! Yeah volunteering in Cartago was definitely the most amazing experience I've ever had. I loved Cartago because it's definitely a small town, but since we had weekends off, it was a nice home to come back to. I was there for three months total (Sept - Dec) and met a lot of locals, everyone was really friendly. It was cooler and rained almost everyday in the beginning. Towards Dec, it started getting nicer and turning into their summer. Cartago is in a valley so it's naturally cooler than the rest of CR but I did lots of traveling to the beaches and the warmer parts on the weekends...I kinda had the best of both worlds! I'm hoping to go back there and stay with some friends, if you end up going to Cartago let me know how it is and say hi to everyone for me please! I'm so jealous!
