Returning home from Cape Town, South Africa

As the plane took off from Cape Town International Airport, as it was starting to level off, I saw Table Mountain in the distance hovering above the clouds, it was the most amazing sight to rightfully end my time in South Africa.

The 18 hour journey home gave me time to look back on my experience. It is so hard to say which moment was the most memorable as I had so many amazing times, from seeing the penguins at Bolder Beach, and playing clapping games with the children, to eating local fast fo… Continue

Day 9 in Cape Town, South Africa

One of the things that I was sure that I wanted to do while I was here was get to the top of Table Mountain. What I didn't realise was how memorable the getting up and down of it would be. It was a beautiful morning in Cape Town so a few of us decided to hike up to the top and to get the cable car down. Twenty minutes in I was huffing and puffing and was having the most strenuous workout ever. A painful hour in we past a couple of South African men who informed us that the cable car was not runn… Continue

Day 4 in Cape Town, South Africa

Cape Town is amazing; it is full of colour, contrasts, history and laughter. I can still see the hand and footprints from the children on my clothes as they could not get enough attention and love from me. I have never felt more like a human climbing frame in my life and I never thought I would be as happy being one. The energy in the room was contagious and I have never… Continue

I hope you have a great time. I'm very encouraged that you have moved over to work for CCS from London, as I hopefully am looking to do the same thing. It would be amazing to work with a team that strives for the same goals.
How is your Spanish?

Hahaha, oh Georgie! Well, perhaps we could see about accepting you as an honourary member.

Or, maybe we can start another group: "For volunteers from countries where 'honour' is spelt with the letter 'u'". :P

I am interested in working for a place like CCS after I graduate if not CCS itself. I would love to intern there and spoke with Brooke the program manager for Brazil about it and she had great things to say about working with CCS too. I love helping out and I love culture and travel and I think thats wonderful that you loved it so much you joined the team.
