Hi Andrea:
Thank you so much for sharing your photos. I was able to vicariously relive my CCS experience through them. I forwarded the link to my daughter and her boyfriend who went to Peru with me.

We had a mini carnival for children.....where children were free to get in and adults had to purchase a ticket. Our friends and family helped us run a raffle, paint faces, DJ, play games, run arts and crafts projects, and make balloon animals and hats. We are also having a Tag Sale in a few weeks. We still need to do more though...any good ideas?

Profile Information

About me:
My name is Andrea and I am from Seattle, Washington.
In September, I had a wonderful opportunity to volunteer in Lima, Peru teaching English at the National Institute for Welfare of Infants and Family (INABIF).
INABIF is a governmental program aimed at providing basic services to the poorest sectors of Peruvian society. Their site in Villa El Salvador is a large facility that provides different educational and recreational services and activities for kids ages 1-16 years old and serves as a day care facility for children.
My placement at INABIF was teaching English to a class of 34 five year old children. The childrean are amazing and have a great desire to learn English and about the world around them. I miss them very much and hope to return.
