My friend Sarah and I had our fundraiser yesterday and it turned out very well. We still have a ways to go but it's a good chunk out of the way. I will post pictures from the fundraiser! Thanks to everyone who came and donated and congrats to all ...

I work as an RN Casemanger along with my new title. I have worked Home Health for over 3 years now. I am used to working in home enviornments verses a hospital or Nursing Home. I am confident I can bring my experience and turn it in to good in Brazil and all other places we will be going over next 7 years. I have worked 5 years in the Birth Center as well so infant knowledge is a plus. I have supplementally worked in Nursing Homes so that too will be benificial. My heart is in Home Health keeping people in their own homes as safe and appropriate as possible. Home Health nursing is based on teamwork between the nurse, coworkers in office, physicians, physical therapists, county workers and the clients and their families. It is very rewarding and I can see myself doing this until i retire, which is in almost 30years! So as you can see i am working my passion and am eager to help those in need. Thanks for all who support me and have helped me along my long journey and dream. This will be a life changing experience and i'm very fortunate to be part of this group with CCS. Please come back to website and check my status throughout this time. Thank You! Amy Elit RN

I would say the that I learned more from my students than I actually taught them. Sure they might have learned some animals, colors, and numbers from me, but the gift they give you is priceless. I was there for six weeks which I think was just enough time for me. But it goes by fast and just when you are making progress you leave so that is hard. Also be prepared to see people treated differently then you might expect, for example the kids still get hit in school for being bad. And you can't do anything about it other than not do it yourself. But mostly be prepared to meet and appreciate new people and absorb their culture. It changed my life. I have been moving around the country since I got back and am planning on going to Asia this winter to travel around.
