Glad you are working in the prison - I personally think that's the best!! if you have a long layover at the lima airport, don't worry. it's very safe and there's a starbucks and massage place!! You'll love everyone that works at CCS in ayacucho. they are all fantastic!! and go to La Miel for chocolate cake. take a couple of good books to read. and good walking shoes.

I hope everything is going great! Unfortunately:(( I was not able to come up with my financials to make the trip in dec:( I was so sad the day I actually realized it wasn't going to happen this dec. I even learned some (not much) spanish! Anyway I am going next Sept when I graduate from grad school and by then I will most definitely have my costs covered! I'm sorry you are going without knowing anyone there but I'm sure you will meet some people you like. I would also love to see some pics and hear some stories about your trip! Wow, you've been to more places in the US than I have and I've lived here my whole life. Hhaha thats awesome! I actually heard about the importance of spanish also, so as of now I don't know one word in spanish but one of my friends has the Rosetta Stone set and he is going to give it to me so hopefully (no promises) I will learn a little spanish. I would love if you could send me those e-mails from that woman, she seems like a very good connection to have out there. I need to buy my ticket ASAP it sucks to be a broke student. You say that the tickets are very expensive on Dec 12th, I may have to get mine for the day prior also. Anyway keep in touch I'll let you know when I get my ticket and if I'm getting anywhere with spanish:)

I haven't booked my flights yet, but I hear we have to fly into Lima around midnight so we can catch our flight out that they book for us. Have you booked your flight yet? It would be awesome to arrive in Lima around the same time as you so I'm not waiting around the airport alone. Let me know:)
