Cape Town: Art of Healing

A group of students from NYU's Art Therapy program came to CCS Cape Town to share their skill and technique with local students and teachers. After three weeks of workshops and classes about connecting with one's South African roots, history and ancestry, several children, teachers, staff and social workers from the surrounding townships in Cape Town came together to create a mural depicting the product of their weeks of work and self-reflection. It was a joyous day of cross-cultural sharing on many levels and a celebration of life and history that Cape Town will remember for years to come!
