What are some of the best placement sites in Morocco and how much extra spending money do people generally bring?

Hi Emily - I am going in a couple of months so can't speak from first-hand experience but, based on research, popular placement sites seem to be the orphanage, center for street children, and hospital. I also applied for a Women's Empowerment program, so am not sure what that might entail. There are options to work with the elderly and disabled as well, but haven't heard any specifics on those programs.

I'm not sure exactly how much money to bring, but my program manager said that during the week people might spend around $25-50 for laundry, shopping for souvenirs, etc. Most weekends people spend around $150 USD, unless you do a Sahara trip which costs around $350. It really depends on what you want to do and how extravagent you want to do it. I'm hoping to get away with spending less than $1,000 for three weeks, but we'll see how that goes. :-)

I hope this helps. Good luck!

Patty
