no - you just pay each time. I think it's about $2-$3 a time. There are memberships you can buy for a month, but it doesn't pencil out unless you go almost every day.

Also, if anyone is hanging out in the airport for a few hours in the middle of the night, don't worry - it's really nice. there's a starbucks with internet (that will feel way too much like home) with those overstuffed couches to sleep - i mean sit- on and there's a chair massage place where massages are $30/hour or whatever part of that you want. There are many people there late at night and it feels well lit and safe. There's a restaurant across from Starbucks that's open all night and I've eaten there a few times. Great fresh pineapple juice.

If anyone likes to work out there's a nice gym about 3 blocks from CCS. Ask one of the staff about it. Also, if you want to bring your laptop, there are two internet connections in the living room that you can take turns using. It's either that or the internet cafes down the street. You might want to bring some antiseptic wipes or antibacterial lotion as well...especially if you are working in the children or in the clinic. If you are working in the clinics, you might want to bring your own package of gloves. Any Spanish you can start learning WILL help you!! You'll meet many people that don't know any english!!

I will be in Ayacucho from May 24 - June 6. I just received my placement at the Morro de Arica health clinic. Has anyone had any experience there and any advice?
